The most entertaining and dramatic 5 minutes of "sport" I have ever seen. I'm sure many others(except Arizona fans) feel the same way. Outside of Laetner hitting the turnaround, I'm not sure there has ever been a better moment in college basketball.

@ChadSaturday ="I am surprised that this game does not get more recognition as one of the greatest come backs in NCAA tournament history."....it certainly does, as it should. It features of the best NCAA basketball squads ever assembled(certainly the best that didn't win the title, imo) and the last 5 minutes were the most entertaining 5 minutes of "sport" I've ever witnessed, and many others in the media/high-places feel the same way.

@AzonaCATS10 yeah i remember he did hit that game winner. ILL's weak sopts that year were their forwards, and thats why they lost to UNC but AZ's best forward couldnt post up. so they had to go against illinois' guards who were terrific defenders. when you can post up it opens up everything else. it was a great game but you were on the losing side so it sucks for you. ik how you feel

@13bastit I think they were trying to give the ball to there best driver since hassan adams jumps out of this world, but the problem is he froze up and didnt do what he needed to do. And i agree completely with what you just said. They should have gave it to Salim who already hit a game winning shot against Oklahoma State before Illinios. I bet they thought he was going to get double teamed or something.

@AzonaCATS10 exactly. that is exactly what i have been saying about hassan adams. and like i said earlier, you have a legitamite point about fouls. but you gave the ball to hassan adams, who was guarded by our best player, instead of maybe salem stodimire or channing frye. im sorry but arizona didnt really have any iso players that year, they should have set screens for stodimire or frye to get them open for a shot.

@13bastit Ok dude, If the ref didnt call that obvious foul for your team then you would be mad. I could understand if it wasnt obvious but it was. That play alone cost them the game. That would be 2 more points for Arizona and there would have been no overtime. Yah they had a chance in overtime and hassan adams tried to be a fucking hero and shoot a retarted ass 3 instead of driving it to the basket and getting a layup or a foul for free throws. If he wasnt a retard Arizona would have won.

@AzonaCATS10 but you are still blaming the refs for not calling a foul. thats my point. i see your point. i understand. but as a guy that plays sports, arizona couldve inbounded that pass with 45 secs left, gotten a basket, and then ILL wouldve had to foul. then you go to the final 4. but AZ made mistakes. the whole game cant be determined on a single foul call. and AZ couldve made a shot to break the tie after ILL made that huge three to tie the game. but thats not what happened.

@13bastit Ok, I know they wouldnt have stole the inbounds pass because they were in the bonus lmao. And the chances of them stealing it on the side in college basketball are low, hardly ever happens. So that was 2 easy points for Illinios. And lets say they made the free throws with the foul called. That means Arizona wins by 4. You have to look at the game like that. Everything counts in basketball. Your not looking at it that way because your team one.
