The headlines in tomorrow's newspapers will be "Cable Company destroys Internet"
Because as soon as you try to control people..they will create a new way..
What we need to do is create a wifi to wifi internet..where each person becomes a broadcaster from wireless to wireless creating a linking chain which will transfer data via wireless hub to wireless hub...exchanging information by passing cable companies. PERIOD!!!
anyone up for the hack?

My brother throttles my bandwidth on my wireless connection. When I change the password on my router and unthrottle it, he changes it again and disconnects the router. Unfortunately the router is in his room and my parents won't do anything about it.

by ISP i mean your "internet service provider"..like at&t or comcast, if my provider wasn't giving me the bandwidth I pay for then i'd definitley lose them...

I believe that I don't have a "set" ISP. My ISP changes regularly. I looked into it a little bit and heard that perhaps it is not a good idea to get a singular, constant ISP because then if you happen to go somewhere you can't use the computer {although I RARELY travel anymore.} When you say "change your ISP" what do you mean exactly because my ISP changes all the time. {I also heard it costs a bit more to have a constant, singular ISP.

Time Warner Roadrunner lives on monopolies and ripping people off...

I live in Maine. Town of 7,000. I have a Dell. I get Time Warner Roadrunner. Recently during different parts of the day my bandwidth {I do constant tests} will slow down to 800 KB. 1.2 MB. 1.5 MB. Other times during the day it is 6 MB, 5 MB, 4 MB.........Supposedly I'm supposed to get "up to" 7 MB with Roadrunner. {I pay $50 a month.} I don't download anything. I keep my computer "pristine." When I call Time Warner they tell me its my browser etc. etc...I think it is them not my browser????
